Social Early Neutral Evaluation (SENE)
CMG Mediation and Family Services provides Social Early Neutral Evaluation services for parents in the early stages of a breakup. Commonly offered before formal litigation, Social Early Neutral Evaluation provides parents in the early stages of a break up with an opportunity to have a professional, confidential assessment of how their child custody and parenting time situation may unfold in court. The evaluators are typically attorneys and mental health professionals with extensive experience in the family court system. Each party is given an opportunity to talk about their circumstances, concerns, and their proposal for their child(ren)s’ custody and parenting time arrangement.
Once both parents present their case, the evaluators privately discuss the situation. They then present their assessment of how the court would most likely decide the parents' custody and parenting time. Parents then take time to consider the evaluators’ assessment and decide whether they would like to try and reach a settlement or return to the litigation process. In many situations, Social Early Neutral Evaluation helps parents reach a mediated settlement.
